Fyrish music. Here are some samples of our music

'The Young British Soldier' is a poem by Rudyard Kipling written in 1895 about British soldiers fighting and dying in Afghanistan.  We have used a selection of verses from the poem, set to an original tune.

'Rantin' Rovin' Robin' is by Robert Burns, sung to an adaptation of a traditional tune.  The song is also known as 'There was a Lad'

'When the Boys are on Parade' is a great song about soldiering written by Marcus Turner from New Zealand.  This is our recording of his song which we are including here with permission from Marcus.  Find more of his music at www.kiwifolk.org.nz/artists/marcus/index.html.

Here is a YouTube video recorded at Otley Folk Club. Marjorie is playing her set of tunes: 'Tune for Gemma / John Mackenzie Paterson'.  The second tune was written in memory of her father who played the fiddle.
